Having lived in the slums in Chennai, India for the first 10 years of my life where we actually had to pump water for every day use, it is strange seeing my daughter pumping water at a museum as a form of entertainment/learning; as opposed to a chore essential to survival. I try explaining it to her but I know it is beyond anything she can imagine right now.
While Frankie took Izo off to nap, I got to spend an hour with Maya at the Dinosaur exhibit. This was some much needed one-on-one time and it was so incredibly sweet and perfect. I have been trying desperately to do something with just her since Izo's arrival and it's crazy to think that 8 months have gone by before I could carve out one hour in the middle of a family outing. I am so proud of this little lady and all that she is becoming. She is the best big sister a child could ask for and frankly one of the finest human beings I have ever had the privilege of knowing.
